Christmas is here again!

Here I am making my annual pilgrimage to the foothills of central
Alabama with Anthony and Donna.

I'm sitting here on the plane pecking away at my iPhone like one of
those chickens at the fair, that always beats you at tic-tac-toe.

I'm sure my "plane mates" behind me think i'm a freak. (no comments
from the peanut gallery - thank you!) I will say that the iphone is a
lot easier than trying to wrangle my laptop in the confined quarters
of our airline seats. Thank God for techonology(and Apple!!)

Speaking of which, Donna received her Christmas present earlier today
- a new iPhone !! She seems genuinely happy to get it, and I hope she
enjoys it as much as I do. Who knows, maybe I can convert her into a
tech junkie like me ---- but I doubt it.

Anthony was a real trooper this morning. He woke up at 5:30 like it
was business as usual. I'm sure the thoughts of going to "pawpaw's"
made it all that much easier for him. He's smart though, because he
passed out on my lap right before the wheels lifted off the ground.
Lucky him!

As I peak over at Donna, I see her flipping through the pages of the
third installment of the Sookie Stackhouse novels. If it doesn't ring
a bell for you, these are the books that HBO's new series "Trueblood"
is based on. I must say, it's pretty darn good! If you haven't seen
it, check it out "on demand".

We're apparently starting our descent into Birmingham from what the
Captain said. Overall a good flight so far, with the occassional
bumps, etc, the plane wasn't full either, so that's a plus too! Gotta
love Southwest!

I'm pretty excited about 2009. I realize 2008 hasn't been that great
of a year, and am hopeful that the current state if affairs improve
for everyone. Stay positive out there - things will get better!

Well, the instruction to "turn off all electronic devices" has been
made, so I better sign off for now, and get myself ready to relax for
a few days and spend lots of time with Donna & Anthony - which, by the
way, is my favorite Christmas present of all.

Signing off from 35,000 feet,

Frank
