The Week So Far....
Our trip out West started last Friday afternoon, when we left Tampa for our 3-1/2 hour flight to Denver. We've never flown Frontier
Airlines before, but I must say that we enjoyed the ride, and that the TVs in the back of every headrest with DirectTV was great! In fact,
all airlines should add this service and wireless Internet.
Once we landed in Denver, it was off to get our baggage and the rental. All went off without a hitch until the folks at Hertz locked the keys of our rental car inside the vehicle. Amazingly, they were able to cut a key in about five minutes, and had us off and running.
Once we got going it was a quick ride (via GPS) to our hotel in Denver - a very cool place I might add - called The Curtis. The room was very nice with nice touches like granite counters and full glass shower. The location of the hotel was ideal- withina block of the 16th Street Walking Mall. Once we got situated in our room, we went for a walk downtown to check out the sites and grab some dinner.
Downtown Denver is very clean and felt remarkably safe. We took a horse draw carriage ride which Anthony loved, and learned a little about Denver from the lady who drove our carriage. Once we had our dinner, it was back to the room for some shuteye. We al slept like rocks. We recommend The Curtis if you ever go to Denver!
On Saturday we took a walk on the 16th Street Mall again, but went the opposite direction. Again, it was very safe and clean and had a lot if foot traffic. There had to be at least eight Starbucks on this little stretch. We stopped for breakfast at a cool little place called Sam's that put out one heck of a meal, with great service!
We got back to The Curtis, checked out and hoped in the Escalade to meet our friends Claudia and Serge for lunch at John Elway's namesake restaurant. This is a "must go to" place if you go to Denver. Top notch food & sevice!
After having a great time with Claudia & Serge, we were off to Breckenride. With the GPS it was a piece of cake, and we got to our hotel in time to check in and go play in the snow. Between the thin air and the altitude, it took a little getting use to chasing Anthony up and down the snowy hills. Below are a few photos, and there's a bunch on my Ofoto site. If you need the, just email me and I will send it to you.
We played for a while, cleaned up and went to the center of Breckenridge, where we ate at Bubba Gump's. It was pretty tasty, and really hit the spot.
On Sunday we walked around town and checked out all of the shops and looked to find Anthony some kind of board he could use to slide down the snowy hills behind our place. No one had anything, so we headed to the main town before you get into Breckenridge called Frisco.
Fortunately for us the Wal-mart there was loaded up with some pretty cool boards, which happened to be priced just right. We headed back to our place and rode the hills until we were exhausted. It was a great time, and made for some great pictures and video. Anthony has taken a real liking to the snow. After relaxing and cleaning up a bit, we headed to town for dinner at a really impressive place called Modis. The food and service may be the best I've had anywhere. It was so good, we went again tonight.
Well, there's a bunch to tell you about today (Monday), but I am pretty tired, and I'm sure Anthony will want to get up bright and early to hit the snow again before we head back to Denver.
I hope you are enjoying the blog and photos from the trip, and will fill you in on today's adventures, as well as Tuesday's late tomorrow night.
We hope everyone is doing well! Frank, Donna, & Anthony

Someone drank all of Mom's Starbucks Strawberry & Creme drink
Well, we spent most of the day travelling around and exploring the areas ski areas and resorts. Today we checked out Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, the view of the Continental Divide, Copper Mountain & Vail. Because there's lots of photos, I will post them on my Ofoto site.
Needless to say we are having a great time!
